Map showing Subiaco Mews

The Subiaco Mews complex consists of 2,136 square metres of ground floor retail space and 1,038 square metres of first floor office space, contained in three separate buildings known as the East Building, the West Building and the South Building. These buildings surround a ground level pay car park for customers, with access from Hay Street and Axon Street, and there is a secure basement car park for owners and tenants, with access from Churchill Avenue. In recent times, much of the retail space has been converted for use as food businesses and Subiaco Mews is now home to nine quality restaurants, making it an attractive location for local people and visitors seeking a diversified food experience.

All Lot Owners are strongly encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Subiaco Mews Strata Company, not only to hear what is happening with the complex but to have some input in the management of the Strata Company and volunteer to be an active member on the Management Council. It is proposed to hold the Annual General Meeting earlier in the Financial Year, (August/September), in future and all owners will be provided information nearer the time.

The Management Council is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting and can consist of between 3 and 7 members. The Management Council has the responsibility of managing the Strata Company for the benefit of all Lot Owners and should meet on a regular basis to review any maintenance issues, financial issues, breach of By-laws and any other factors affecting common property. At the first meeting of the Management Council , the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer is elected and all other positions are Members. Any decision approved by the Management Council must be passed by a simple majority vote, with no person having more voting rights than another.

As the role on the Management Council is voluntary and quite time consuming, the Management Council will usually appoint a professional Strata Manager to assist it with its duties and legal obligations, by undertaking the day-to-day work of preparing Budgets, raising funds through Strata Levies, attending to repairs and maintenance issues, arranging contracts for cleaning, waste removal, car park maintenance, etc., resolving breaches of By-laws, maintaining insurance and processing claims and arranging meetings.
