February 1st, 2019 is opening night for Directions Theatre's 21st Shakespeare in the Gardens. This year the Hobart and Delamere Vineyard stalwarts will stage:
"A Midsummer Night's Dream"
Director Tai Gardner knows audiences will love “The Dream” where four young lovers fly to the woods to escape the perils of Athenian law and end up in a twisted tangle of confused affections; six amateur actors meet in a secret grove to rehearse in earnest and all the while the fairy king and queen wage a war of jealousy and mischief. Whether it's the meddling fairies, the theatrical antics of Nick Bottom and Peter Quince, the lovers' haps and mishaps, or the astonishing poetry, be enchanted by this well-loved comic masterpiece.
The talented cast includes actors both new and old including Jared Goldsmith, Rosemary Cann, Kate Vosper, Arin Dean, Emma Skalicky, Lochie Dew, Lillie McNamara, CJ Bowers, Bonnie Liston, Catherine Grainger, Katrina Green, Paul McNally and Duncan Kelly.
Be enchanted by the Botanical Gardens at night, pack a picnic and come along to be swept up in “The Dream”.

Patrons are advised to bring blankets and a picnic which may include alcohol.
Finish time approx 9.45pm
