What may the future hold? Join us at Scitech’s adults-only event After Dark, on 6 April for an exploration of the future and how science can save us. Expect an evening of interplanetary colonisation, discussions of futurism, and more as we take a glimpse into humanity’s future.
Board a generation starship, leave Earth, and seek a new existence among the stars in our live Planetarium show ‘Letters to our Ancestors’.
Once you’re back on Earth, feast your eyes on sonic paintings that are truly out-of-this-world by Jean-Michel Maujean's technicolour art, created using spectrograms, waveform images, and amplitude graphs. Astronomer, Rick Tonello will plunge into the deep, dark void with a presentation on black holes, Einsteinian Gravity, and how space exploration could save us.
Our species is on the cusp of a pivotal moment in history, but is the future out of our hands? Special guest speaker, JP Parker, a Canadian futurist, explores the different contours of the future we are shaping through our present actions. There will be shows of explosive fireballs and chemical reactions, roving entertainment, a photo booth, plus much more! So dress up in your favourite character from the future, grab a drink from the bar in City Views and ease into an evening exploring humanity’s fate.
This is an 18+ event only and valid ID is required for entry.
