We spend almost all our time and energy trying to avoid problems and experience happiness by changing the world around us. However, our unhappiness and difficulties do not come from external things, they are the result of the negative actions, or ‘karma’, we performed in the past. By receiving this purifying blessing and turning inwards for solutions and meaning we embark on a true path to happiness. The empowerment is a blissful guided meditation in which we make a personal connection with Guru Vajrasattva. Then, by engaging in the associated meditation practice, our negative karma is dissolved away and we can connect to the endless joy and natural purity that lies within.

This year Gen-la Khyenrab, retired General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition, will visit Australia. The principal event of his visit will be Australia’s national Kadampa festival where he will grant the empowerment of Buddha Vajrasattva, the embodiment of enlightened purification. Gen-la Khyenrab will then explain how to purify negative karma—the real obstacle to a happy and meaningful life.

Bookings open on Saturday 19 October at 11am (Australian Eastern Standard Time). Please see website for accommodation and bookings.
