Indulge your flights of fantasy! Lords, ladies, knights, peasants, merchants, serfs, bards and beggars...all are welcome to head to Balingup for a weekend of great fun and entertainment. Over 100 stalls of medieval creations, food, wine and cider tasting etc. Non-stop entertainment on two stages and around the event site with the spectacle of the fire performers and ritual Burning of the Dragon at dusk on Saturday night.
The Grand Parade starts at 1pm both days, finishing at the Royal Dais. There are demonstrations by the knights at the fighting arena, the blacksmith and Clay Dragons potter as well as the horseback archers on Sunday and a new event, the trebuchet demonstrations. There is a lot of entertainment and many activities for the kids. Come in costume or you may like to hire one when you arrive. Details are on our website. WA Birds of prey and Reptiles will be featured again as well as fairy fantasy for the kids.
Boffer swords are here again so kids can have a turn in the fighting arena. The fighting groups with swords and armour create an exciting display as the groups compete for glory. Acrobats and jugglers, morris dancers and belly dancers are also featured right through the day. Children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
There is camping available (contact the Balingup Visitor Centre) and accommodation in nearby towns.
The Balingup Tavern will have meals available each night, including Friday.
