About the workshop:
Create your own unique art work by reusing and celebrate old discarded books. In this ‘Book Smithing’ workshop you will repurpose old book illustrations and use simple stitching methods to embellish the piece.

Old books have an amazing quality to them; the paper stock, the imagery and often the printing techniques. Many books are already artworks in themselves. This technique allows you to add your own personal touch and some texture to emphasis certain elements of the image. Create art work to frame or gift to take home, see some more examples below!

Skill Level:
Beginner, but comfortable threading a needle and doing basic stitching would be beneficial.

Included in workshop ticket:
A range of books / book pages on different themes
All materials and equipment
Handouts
A notebook (handmade using discarded book pages)
Take home your own original artwork
Stitching paper can be fragile—learn a few interesting tips!
Light refreshment
