Cheyne Starkey

Growing up in the mountains of rural Brisbane, Cheyne Starkie developed a love for writing and performing music in high school, playing in a number of bands and touring Aus & Nz with Hemingway, until the start of 2017 when he decided it was time to follow his own passions.

Performing throughout 2017 with a number of other musicians as a solo act & trio act, Cheyne put together a band in June with some of Brisbane’s talented musicians, Joshua Gordon(Bass), Oliver Hughes(Keys & Sax) & Jack Railings(Drums) under the name of Cheyne Starkie & The Get Down. This gave Cheyne the option to present different settings and atmosphere based upon the venue being able to perform as a solo act which is a laid back style of Folky, Reggae, Blues against the much more energetic version of the band playing a range of Soul, Funk & Reggae.
