Come Up and Make an Etching

This special intaglio technique uses one plate to print successive colours—cyan, magenta and lemon yellow—to make a full colour print. The entire plate is etched to create a texture and then burnished and printed with each colour to create the full colour range. Of special interest to intaglio fans and suitable for beginners to more experienced printers who might like to extend their skills.

Maximum 10 participants. All materials will be supplied including quality printmaking rag paper. Extensive notes provided. Non-members plus $40 membership fee. Booking essential. Carme has just completed a successful residency at Tanks Arts Centre. She is a printmaker, painter, calligrapher, and educator, based in Spain. Her residency in Cairns was part of a collaborative study with biologist, Santi Ruiz for BetàniaPatmos School in Barcelona.
