How do you house 10,000 homeless city residents in two years? Find out with South Australia’s latest Thinker in Residence, Dr Nonie Brennan.

In this session Dr Nonie Brennan, Senior Advisor for the Institute of Global Homelessness & former CEO of All Chicago will discuss the Making Homelessness History project and its incredible impact to Chicago’s homelessness sector.

Working with a coalition of 91 agencies, All Chicago’s mission is to unite community and resources to provide housing solutions for thousands of people. This coalition has reduced homelessness by 25%. They have done this through emergency financial assistance, community partnerships, data analysis, training and research - all aimed at preventing and ending homelessness.

Under the leadership of Dr Nonie Brennan, All Chicago provided US$2.7 million in support to 3,185 households, including 1,350 children. An astounding 94% of clients maintained their housing and 88% of clients reported that the financial assistance they had received meant they were no longer in crisis.

We hope you can joins us to learn from these significant achievements and how to apply these methods to our local efforts to end homelessness.
