In our second concert, Eternity, Willoughby Symphony Orchestra’s composer-in-residence for 2019, the internationally celebrated Australian composer Kate Moore presents a major new work that celebrates the vividness of life at the time of revelation, inspired by the visceral images of the painter. The work is in three movements outlining three states of seeing and is based on the revelation of Saint John and the vision of Saint Lucy, Saint Francis and Saint Clare.
Rising star Benett Tsai opens the concert with Dvořák’s timeless concerto for cello. Considered to be the supreme concerto for the cello, Dvořák’s final concerto will spring to life with the stellar talents of Benett with the Willoughby Symphony. Expertly guided by award winning conductor Michelle Leonard OAM, who has won acclaim with her innovative work through the scintillating Moorambilla voices, this concert is sure to leave you inspired and enthralled by the wide ranging achievements of homegrown talents.
