The City of Unley are "fishing" for entrepreneurs with entries now open for the return of popular youth program Fish Tank. The project is a take on the popular television show ‘Shark Tank’ in which aspiring entrepreneur contestants make business presentations to a panel of professionals.
Panel members include a representative from Business SA, a previous winner, an entrepreneur expert and Unley Mayor Michael Hewitson. The business ideas chosen will win the opportunity to be mentored by a professional for 12 months, in addition to a seed investment towards their business.
Entries are open until March 18. Pitching will commence on April 4 from 6pm. For more information, visit City of Unley website.
What is the prize package?
12–17 years category
- 1st Prize – Futurepreneurs Launchpad mentoring package facilitated by entrepreneurship educator Sasha Dragovelic, including two x 2-hour mentoring sessions (valued at $650) + a complimentary place in the Business SA Youth Entrepreneur Workshop to be run in May 2019 at Business SA (valued at $300) + $500 seed money.
- 2nd Prize – $ 300 seed money.
18–25 years category
- 1st Prize – Business SA SAYES (South Australian Young Entrepreneur Scheme) 12 month workshop and mentoring program valued at ($1,200) + two complimentary tickets to a 2019 Business SA Chamber Networking Event + $500 seed money.
- 2nd Prize – $300 seed money.
