Girls In Tech 2019 Meetup

The tech industry in Australia is made up of less than 30% women. It's time to change the stats!

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) are important fields for the future—jobs in these areas offer higher than average salaries, and there is high (and growing) demand for people in STEAM occupations. In other words, STEAM is where the good jobs are! But there is currently a big achievement gap between girls and boys in STEAM in schools and women are vastly underrepresented in STEAM jobs and among STEAM degree holders. Having half the population (women) not participating in STEAM fields also limits Australia's overall creativity and innovation.

Here for its second year, together with Coder Academy, we are aiming to tackle and bring awareness of this issue on the 5th of March 2019. AIT and Coder Academy invite all high school girls, their teachers and parents to join us for our #girlsSTEAMahead Girls In Tech Meetup 2019.

We want to celebrate, inspire and connect young women interested in design, arts and technology. This one-night event will showcase talented female industry speakers and fun workshops that encourage young women to follow their passion in new technologies and possibly make it their future careers.
