Put aside any assumptions that Sydney & Melbourne rules the world of beer festivals and get along to Albury’s 3rd annual Great Australian Beer Festival (GABF).

Australia’s biggest alfresco beer and cider garden with over 150 brews to enjoy. With so many to beers to choose from, supporting Australia’s local brewers can be a mind-bending but undeniably enjoyable experience.

While brewers attend from around the country, a real feature of this festival is the opportunity to taste an incredible selection of beers and ciders from the region. Brewers from the farming country of the Riverina, from along the mighty Murray, throughout the valleys and mountains and across Ned Kelly country. GABF is a true celebration of the artistry and passion behind the brews of Australia and the region.

While beer lovers are in for a treat, so are the music lovers! Headlining is Sydney songwriter Ruby Fields, who’s had a huge year with her Dinosaurs track voted #9 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 and recent performances on Triple J’s Like A Version and some of the bigger music festivals around the country. The Potbelleez, one of Australia’s most in-demand and electrifying live acts are also performing on the day.

While GABF mixes the familiar elements of an outdoor beer festival—the pop up bars, brewing demos, educational sessions, food and live music, it also adds more obscure flourishes. By more, you can expect to find wandering cabaret acts, a piano bar with comedy & beer cabaret, a wacky dance-off; even find yourself judging a best beard competition.

GABF has earned a reputation for stimulating more than taste buds and this year’s festival has all the ingredients for an epic day out. Great Beer, Great Music, Great Memories.
