Holli Scott & the Rush Hour Circus are very pleased to be launching Holli's debut album, 'Dust'.

Holli Scott will launch her debut album Dust with group The Rush Hour Circus. 'Dust' is an album of original music and arranged jazz standards in the contemporary jazz style. The album is composed and arranged by 25 year old Perth vocalist and front woman Holli Scott, specifically for her quintet Holli Scott & the Rush Hour Circus. The group is made up of some of Australia’s finest, award-winning jazz musicians: Jamie Oehlers on saxophone, Daniel Susnjar on drums, Karl Florisson on double bass, and Ben Matthews on piano. Audiences at the launch at the Ellington Jazz Club on May 17 will enjoy a live performance of the 9 track album.

"We are blessed with a pool of very talented artists here in Western Australia and I, other performers, patrons and Holli’s peers consider her to be in the top 1% of that constantly expanding group. She always delivers her performances with integrity, professionalism, intelligence and elegance." - Tony Wallace, Manager, The Ellington Jazz Club

The sound of Holli Scott & the Rush Hour Circus is soulful, eclectic, and dark, and is characterized by Scott’s deep, warm vocals and lots of musical interaction between band members. Although the music is rooted firmly in the jazz style, it is informed by an array of influences, from Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and Paul Simon, to Nina Simone and Billie Holiday. The music has a strong focus on lyrics, which reference the small flickers of magic hidden in everyday life. Scott delivers every song with a captivating stage presence. The lyrics paint vivid, clear pictures for listeners, moving through a variety of colours and emotions with every song.

Since graduating with honours from Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2015, Scott has honed her craft and established herself in Australian and international music scenes. She has appeared on a number of high profile recordings (soundtracks for This is the Police and This is the Police 2, Ben Matthews’ Livewyre), and 'Dust' will mark the first full-length album release under Scotts own name.

The recording and release of Dust was funded by the Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries.

Join Holli Scott & the Rush Hour Circus as they launch debut album, 'Dust'.
