The Australian Passive House Association (APHA) is proud to present the Melbourne Icebox Challenge as part of the Sustainable Living Festival.
Successfully held in many major cities around the world, the Icebox Challenge is a fascinating, live demonstration of how simple, effective and proven building techniques can support zero emission, and comfortable living.
Set in the vibrant locale of the Queen Victoria Market, the Melbourne Icebox Challenge will showcase two identically built boxes, one built to the local building code and one to the German Passivhaus (Passive House) standard, each filled with 600kgs of ice. See the results of the ice inside after 10 days in the elements!
