Young singer songwriter Jessica Emily Odgers is off to great places, her mountain is waiting and she is on her way with the release of the debut single ‘Candy‘. Co-written with Katrina Burgoyne. The song is fun and up-beat and introduces Odgers distinctive style and sound.

“I went into the session with the plan to write a fun carefree song that people can relate to. The song is about the innocence of young love and the sweetness of being in love, you can hear within the song the back story of the process of falling head of heels for somebody. I hope when people hear this song they can and dance along while relating to the story of a sweet romance.” Says Jessica.

Brisbane born and bred, 18-year-old Jessica grew up absorbed in music, with her dad a real hard AC/ DC fan, but it was her mum’s music collection of Dixie Chicks and Keith Urban that she fell in love with. At the age of 13 Jessica discovered Taylor Swift and was drawn to how she could entertain the crowd and speak her truth with songs she wrote herself.

Observing her idols and their song-writing skills, Jessica developed a passion for the craft and has been working hard to develop her own style while learning via co-writing with Lance Carpenter (Kelsea Ballerini, Tyler Farr), Morgan Evans, Samantha McClymont, Amber Lawrence and Kaylee Bell.

“As I songwriter I love to write about truth. Whether it might be my truth or someone else’s. I write about everyday life experiences that I know people can relate to. I write from my experiences and other peoples experiences because other people have been through things that I haven’t, and I think their stories deserved to be heard as well. I like to describe it as everyone that comes into my life is a character and every character has a different story within ‘My book’.”
