It's Katie's Birthday so we are playing our favourite local to celebrate.

The Old Married Couple are the faces of new vintage, playing Dixieland style Folk music with a vaudevillian twist that would be at home as much in the Music Halls of the 19th century as they are in the 21st century. Vintage in style and sound, The Old Married Couple combine a witty songwriting style with a distinctive kazoo filled music. Taking cues from Musical comedy and cabaret legends like George Formby, Bette Midler, Marie Lloyd and Cole Porter, The Old Married Couple are spreading Toots and Hoots around the World.

The Old Married Couple’s debut album 'Welcome to the Music Hall' is available on CD, Vinyl and digital. Sweet, silly and suggestive, The Old Married Couple’s live show combine’s their distinctive energetic vintage music with crowd participation, dancing, skits, double entendre and an undeniable sense of sincerity and joy.

The Old Married Couple are real-life young couple Riley and Katie Beech. Their quirky relationship provides the foundation for their unique songwriting and performance chemistry as well as providing sincerity and emotion to the madness and fun of their music. The pair offer an honest perspective on life as a couple with songs covering everything from romance and mortality to babies, sex and each other’s faults.

Their live show sees carnival chaos reign supreme with singalongs and dancing supported by Infectious rhythms and a cacophony of sounds from Katie’s bag of tricks. There really are all the bells and whistles.

If you didn’t know any better, you may think The Old Married Couple were plucked from the 1920s Jazz/Vaudeville crowd, transported to the 1960s Folk/Country/Blues scene and finally made their way to the early 21st Century Indie Music arena. Perhaps they have settled down somewhere within the same city limits as Pokey Lafarge and The Ditty Bops while listening to Cole Porter on the gramophone.

The Old Married Couple have spread toots and hoots at festivals, dance halls, variety shows, cafes and bars around Australia and garnered a reputation as a unique, outrageous and celebratory live experience.

Performances at major festivals include:
Port Fairy Folk Festival
Castlemaine Jazz Festival
Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival
Adelaide Fringe Festival
Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival
Tamworth Country Music Festival
Port Fairy Jazz Festival
Birregurra Festival
