Lino Printmaking Series One – Session 1 – Carve and Print

Take a square or rectangle of lino and carve a design that can become an art print, be used to print greeting cards, or to decorate fabric. Choose one or all of these Lino Printing Sessions to gain an introduction to a fascinating world of Relief Printmaking.

Session 1. Carve and Print.

Everyone will receive a 15 x 15cm square of lino and a design, that you will learn how to transfer onto the lino surface. You will carve the lino and then proceed to print the lino plate to reveal your image. Everyone will create a different outcome just by the nature of their individual carving marks. Discuss how to colour the image using paint, watercolour or pencil. Participants will take home their lino plate and prints created during the session.

2 hour session. (Participants are advised to purchase their own tools, Jade can assist with pre-purchase of a simple 3 piece tool set for $15).
