Influential guitarist Moussa Diakité was part of the golden era of Malian music in the 1970s and ‘80s, performing with some of Africa’s best, including Salif Keita, Oumou Sangare, Toumani Diabaté and the Super Rail Band de Bamako. Since migrating to Australia, he has stamped his mark on the local scene and together with exciting five piece band Wassado fuses traditional West African styles with Cuban, blues and jazz into a unique "Afro-groove".

Performing tracks from their highly acclaimed album Doncomodja and following stand out performances at recent Mullum Music Festival, and WOMADelaide, this is a dynamic show that is mesmerizing, sophisticated, irresistible on the dance floor and not to be missed.

"Brilliant, unique, inspired. Four stars!" - Tony Hillier, The Australian

"One of the finest guitarists I’ve ever heard." - Lloyd Bradford Syke, Australian Stage

"Doncomodja is an upbeat and exceptional album." - Richard Giles, Nexus Magazine

"Diakité re-emerges as a humble torchbearer, unsung hero and ambassador for Malian culture." - Toumani Diabaté
