PhoenixChoir2015

Phoenix Choir are bringing a full performance of Mozart’s final choral masterpiece to the Blue Mountains, with professional soloists including local favourite tenor David Hamilton and full orchestra led by Rebecca Daniel with a brass section led by Volker Schoeller.

This is a rare full performance in the Blue Mountains of an iconic choral work with a full orchestra composed predominantly of talented local musicians. The Kanimbla quartet, Rebecca Daniel, Elizabeth Cooney, Sam Harding and Patricia McMeekin will lead the string section. Volker Schoeller leads the Blue Mountains City Band and is joined by other talented band members Frauke Petri, Robert Campbell. Greg Gibson and James Renwick make up the clarinet section, playing the important basset horn part. A total of 25 in the orchestra are joined by four professional vocal soloists: Soprano, Camila Wright; Mezzo, Carly-Anne Evans; Tenor, David Hamilton; and Bass, Hayden Barrington.

There is a single performance in the Phillips Hall in Blackheath and we are expecting a full house.
