In the late sixties just after Jimi Hendrix was discovered, chess records decided to make Wolf and Muddy more marketable to the new blues rock audiences who were digging the new Hendrix thing.
First came Muddy Waters who produced the now critical and influential album Electric Mud. Wolf was up next producing another great album titled The Howlin Wolf Album.
To provide the psychedelic sound Chess sought for these albums, Marshall Chess assembled "the hottest, most avant garde jazz rock guys in Chicago": Gene Barge, Pete Cosey, Roland Faulkner, Morris Jennings, Louis Satterfield, Charles Stepney and Phil Upchurch.
Today these two albums are massively influential to all forms of contemporary music, from Modern blues to Hip Hop and Electronica.
For this show, Robert Susz, Drey Rollan, Bobbie Green and Moses York are backed by one of the best rhythm sections town featuring Lozz Benson, Scott Leishman, and Dan Holland. They will play through these two classic albums back to back so get ready for some blues rock Psychedelia Madness!
