On the third weekend in May, Brisbane’s famous Paniyiri Greek Festival will take over the city in a haze of haloumi-flavoured smoke and Zorba-inspired high kicks, with a two-day celebration of authentic flavours, faces and culture with free public transport (*conditions apply) to and from the event!

More than 30 authentic Greek food stalls and traditional flavour makers will showcase the sights, smells and tastes from all regions of Greece, famous Greek dances in the Zorba, Sirto, Kalamatiano and Sousta will be performed to traditional and modern music played on traditional Greek instruments and all of Musgrave Park and the Greek Club will celebrate authentic Greek culture!

Traditional Greek Cooking Demonstrations, Greek Dancing dance spectacular, lectures and historical and art displays, Church tours, the Kids Zone and the competitions—Honey Puff Eating Competition, Coffee Race Competition, Plate Smashing Competition, Grape Stomping Competition—will all feature!

Travel free with a pre-purchased Paniyiri Greek Festival ticket to the event on all regular network-wide Brisbane City Council buses and Queensland Rail City Network trains (excludes Brisbane City Council ferries, the G: and Airtrain service). Plan ahead at Translink website or call 13 12 30.
