Make your own artist’s book! Utilising your own drawings, photographs and other relevant reference material, you will create a concertina-style artist’s book. This workshop will address screen-printing, collage, image release printing and other mark-making techniques, as well as folding techniques and the construction of book covers.
This intensive one-day workshop will allow participants to create their own original artist’s book from start to finish. No experience is necessary but this workshop is not for the faint hearted! Workshop fee includes lunch and materials.
About Rhi:
Dr Rhi Johnson is a Toowoomba based artist and educator who works primarily in the fields of Printmaking, Artist’s Books and Mixed Media art. She is interested in the formation of everyday narratives, and how these can be disrupted or subverted visually.
Rhi investigates visual cues that can punctuate an environment, object or space of perceived meaning, and in doing so, may allude to subconscious methods of processing information. Rhi has been involved in group and solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally, lectures on a casual basis, and conducts art workshops for all ages.
