The sounds of Elvis Presley, Van Morrison, Jimmi Hendrix, Abba, The Beatles and Santana are set to rock the Arkaba Hotel in October for a major men’s cancer charity fundraiser.

Five Adelaide bands have joined forces to Rock 4 Prostate at The Arkaba Hotel Top Room on Sunday, October 20 and raise money to support men with prostate cancer.

Bands taking part are The Rejuvenators, Alchemy, Georgie and the Tonics, The Haggards, and Orange Whip.

Arkaba Hotel owner and Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia SA Board Director Peter Hurley is helping support the event with proceeds from the Sunday afternoon concert going to PCFA.

“Rock 4 Prostate is a great concept with all the bands donating their performamces free of charge while the show also is also being assisted by Support Act, a charitable group run by Adelaide musicians and supporters,” Mr Hurley said.

“This charity show will give local music lovers the chance to dance and enjoy classic songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s right up to today, played by some of Adelaide’s top musicians, while helping to raise money for a crucial cancer cause.

“Prostate cancer is the most common internal cancer diagnosed in men in Australia and more men die of prostate cancer than women die of breast cancer,” Mr Hurley said.
