Shane Howard is the founding member of the legendary Australian band, “Goanna” and their album 'Spirit Of Place' was the first Australian album to go to the top of the Australian charts in its first week of release in 1982. The single ‘Solid Rock’ also topped the charts and is now an Australian iconic song still heard regularly on Australian radio. Shane went on to write, “Let The Franklin Flow” to protest the damming of Tasmania's spectacular Franklin River and has lent support to numerous environmental, Aboriginal and human rights campaigns across Australia.
His songs have been recorded by many artists including John Farnham, Troy Cassar Daley and Irish singer Mary Black who had a top 5 single in her home country with her version of his song “Flesh and Blood”. He was named Artist of the Year at the 2005 Port Fairy Folk Festival and awarded a Fellowship by the Australia Council for the Arts in 2000, in recognition of his contribution to Australian musical life. This will be a very rare opportunity to see one of Australia’s finest Singer Songwriters.
