The 18th annual Shedfest Wine Festival returns October 12 and 13.

The continual growth and success of the annual Shedfest event has led to its expansion across the entire Yarra Valley with 13 participating wineries stretching along the Warburton Highway to Seville, Maroondah Highway to Healesville and the Melba Highway to Yarra Glen.

Hosted by Yarra Valley Smaller Wineries Association (YVSWA), the collective two-day event sees small and family owned wineries and vineyards open their cellar doors and wine sheds and celebrate the new vintage in style with over 80 wines on tasting.

Immersive, sensory, and family-friendly Shedfest offers fine fare, premium wines with exclusive releases, and unique gastronomic delights with each winery offering different cuisines, cellar-door specials, as well as live music and entertainment, including lawn games at some venues.

The event is the perfect opportunity to curate wine lists for Christmas and organise Christmas presents that pair perfectly with the stories of their creators.

This year participating wineries include Badger’s Brook in Coldstream, Billanook Estate in Chirnside Park, Boat O’Craigo in Healesville, Elmswood Estate in Seville, Kellybrook Winery in Wonga Park, Payne’s Rise in Seville, Seville Hill in Seville, Six Acres in Silvan, Soumah in Gruyere, Steels Gate Wines in Dixons Creek, Tokar Estate in Coldstream, Whispering Hills Vineyard in Seville, and Yering Farm Wines in Yering.

Many of these wineries are not open to the public unless by appointment—so it is a great way to discover the providence of grape to glass, meet the makers and take in some spectacular scenery.

In addition to the best value ticket in town, the event patrons can enjoy the fact that they are contributing to local community groups, with the YVSWA raising well over $80,000 towards groups including the local CFA and SES.
