Through Tran's transcendental reflection, his sublime paintings in monochromatic tones of grey, capture the atmospheric ambience of the love story between land, sky and self. The artists delicate palette sympathetically embraces the mysterious landscape, upon self-refection of the intangible, into a sublime beauty, revealing a potential mystery greater than ourselves. Sokquon's paintings, speak of art histories painting traditions, imbued within the works of Turner. What appears as landscape, passionately emanates notions of self, spirituality, time, refuge and reflection.

Sokquon Tran was born in Kampot, Cambodia in 1969, during the régime of Pol Pot. After finding refuge in Australia Tran studied Art at Liverpool Tafe and UWS. As a finalist in the Wynne Art Prize and associated exhibition at the Gallery of NSW, his work has become highly valued amongst Corporate and private collections.
