Take My Seat Shopping Challenge

Spinal Life Australia will be bringing the Take My Seat Shopping Challenge to Cairns to raise awareness of the daily challenges faced by people with spinal cord injury, while raising funds for the Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre.

Take My Seat will see participants from the Far North Queensland community compete against each other to complete their grocery lists at a Coles Supermarket, while using a wheelchair.

The event is set to be a fun, light-hearted competition which will also give competitors an insight into the day-to-day challenges faced by people with spinal cord damage that most people don’t even think about.

Entrants will also be raising funds for the Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre, which will bring accessible accommodation and specialist health services for people with a physical disability to Far North Queensland.
