ItalWA 'TTT' (Taste The Tradition) festival was thought to support and spread the Italian cultural heritage in a casual, friendly, simple way...ehm, yes! ..starting with food, of course! We all love some good homemade simple food. And who doesn't like to hang out with a few friends for a drink? Well, let's put all together and add a little bit of tradition, of history.
Thanks to the support of local small businesses and restaurants, we are going to present some delicious, genuine "peasant" food to be enjoyed in a relaxed environment, while sharing a glass of wine, and a chat, with old and new friends!
For this 6th Edition, our friend and awesome chef Lorenzo Schiaffini will prepare some exquisite dishes from the tradition of Liguria! So, are you still thinking about it? Just join us and Taste The Tradition!
What Is "Peasant" Food?
Peasant foods are dishes specific to a particular culture, made from accessible and inexpensive ingredients, and usually prepared and spiced to make them more palatable. Peasant foods often involve skilled preparation by knowledgeable cooks using inventiveness and skills passed down from earlier generations. Such dishes are often prized as ethnic foods by other cultures and by descendants of the native culture who still desire these traditional dishes even when their incomes rise to the point where they can purchase any food they like.
"Cooking like a peasant takes years of practice in the kitchen"!
The event is organized by ItalWA (The Italian Community of Western Australia) and sponsored by
Woodfire Italian Restaurant.
