Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Last Night of the Proms concert in 2019 combines the traditional elements of the Royal Albert Hall event with a unique Australian touch, featuring Australian artists and music. Immerse yourself in Nigel Westlake’s Oboe Concerto. The eclectic composer of many great Australian works is familiar through his music in the soundtracks Babe and the Beatrix Potter biopic starring Renee Zellweger. Listen for sprinklings of rock, jazz, electronic and 21st century contemporary styles in this concerto of catchy appeal. Sing along to traditional choruses - Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory, Sea Songs and patriotic marches are the annual staples of this tongue-in-cheek homage to the Proms.
