The Mystic Charmers – The Castlemaine Jazz festival

The Mystic Charmers are proud to announce that they are performing at the Castlemaine Jazz Festival (taking place from Friday 7th June to Monday 10th June).

Playing specialised arrangements of Django Reinhardt’s ‘Hot Club Swing’, The Mystic Charmers also play compositions from Bechet, Goodman, and Hampton.This is Manouche style swing from the wrong side of the tracks. Where Trombones moan like old hound dogs, tomcat violins weep and wail, while the clarinet cuts through like a switchblade lover on a lonely night.

Take a walk on the wild side, step away from the bright lights of the pavements and sidewalks into the 1930s back allies of Parisian nightclubs. You will be mystically charmed as the night unfolds.

The Maurocco Bar is located at the historic Midland Hotel which has both Victorian and Art Deco elements. The Midland is a private hotel that has operated continuously since 1879 and now houses this timeless European Bar - all comfy couches and subtle lighting. The bar offers great cheese platters, coffee and hard liquor.
