Join Pauline Sherlock as she finds herself while losing herself…one kilogram at a time. Trapped Inside a Fat Old Lady is a new show coming to The Butterfly Club in November. It is an entertaining exploration of the ups and downs of life and weight loss as a middle-aged woman facing menopause, death and involuntary celibacy.

Pauline has been performing for several years as a singer-songwriter and stand-up comedian. This show combines those talents with new skills from a hectic and eclectic range of preparation workshops from clowning, Butoh, improvised movement and theatre training. Pauline presents an engaging exploration of changing herself and learning self-love. It is never too late to learn.

This show forms the artistic portion of a PhD project exploring comedy performance through autoethnography which is the presentation of personal experiences through the lens of researcher.

"This is not a comedy, but it has abundant cheap laughs and smut. It is not a stand-up show, but I do stand up, it is not a clown show, but there is a clown in it and while it is not a tragedy, I am a bit tragic," says Pauline.
