KeiranGordonArt

Pushing the limits of materiality and embracing natural variation; 'Uranium Aesthetic' expresses colour and texture in its most dynamic and unstable form.

Keiran's approach to this body of work has been to dissipate form, line and control over composition allowing colour and texture to engage with each other in an organic way. The few deliberate actions taken concerned the initial colour scheme and the size of the piece. Rather than use a predetermined composition, he chose to create an environment where a series of chemical reactions occur to create a composition independently, standing by to maintain and stabilise the process of aesthetic depletion.

This approach to the monochrome seeks to use a maximalist ideology on a minimalist movement. To better understand and appreciate a colour; it is more useful to show as many permutations of that colour at once in the most idiosyncratic way. This demonstrates that the intrinsic quality of colour is its dynamic and finite nature.
