Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts in presenting Verandah Folk and Roots with Town of Victoria Park support. All are welcome. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has the Stragglers from Tasmania and Gabrielle Campani.

The Stragglers from Tasmania are a self-described ratbag bluegrass and boozy folk tunes ensemble played by three miserable mates coming together for a laugh and a beer, because musicDark Mofo Winter Feast, a major art festival in Hobart supported by the famous Museum of New Art (MONA), one of Tasmania’s premier tourist attractions. MONA is the largest privately funded museum in the Southern Hemisphere housing eccentric ancient, modern and contemporary art from the millionaire gambler David Walsh. The Stragglers are also embarking on a tour of South Australia, Western Australia and Indonesia and their participation in Verandah Folk and Roots is part of this tour.

Gabriele Campani is a solo performer and combo artist who recently returned from Europe. He's an acoustic guitar player, singer, composer and arranger with more than 30 years of professional experience, with a repertoire of blues, jazz, folk, European and American popular tunes, and original compositions. A sort of journey in the evolution of the acoustic guitar and beyond, from traditional to contemporary musicians, he combines different expressions and feelings. On the acoustic side he gives musical interpretations of James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, and also Rev. Gary Davis, Doc Watson, Robert Johnson, Jorma Kaukonen, Ry Cooder, Tommy Emmanuel. On the jazzy side, he has original finger-style arrangements of Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt, George Gershwin, Carlos Jobim, and other standards from an international repertoire.
