A Celebration Of Women in Americana..past, present and future.

About this Event:

One night only songwriters show featuring the queen of Americana music Catherine Britt, alongside Melody Moko and Natalie Henry.

Catherine Britt

From Newcastle to Nashville, Catherine made the move to the home of country music at just 17 years old. It proved to be a brave decision that gave her immeasurable experience as a musician, insight into the machinations of the industry and a contract with the legendary RCA Records. Upon returning to Australia in 2009, Catherine set about recording her debut full length album Dusty Smiles and Heartbreak Cures, the first of five consecutive albums nominated for Album Of The Year at the CMAA (Country Music Awards of Australia). The accolades didn’t stop there. Along the way she has received five Golden Guitar Awards, the CMA Global Artist Of The Year award in 2010 and six ARIA Award nominations for Best Country Album.

Melody Moko

Growing up in a house that held over 7,000 records, and being named after a Rolling Stones song, paved somewhat of a destiny for Melody Moko. Tenanciously bursting onto the music scene as a child, her father packed her in a car, old guitar and cassette mix tapes for company, and set out to give his daughter a musical education, cutting her teeth playing in small festivals across Australia. Melody blossomed when she decided to write for herself,as a young teenager won a stack of songwriting awards and was a finalist in the Telstra Road To Discovery and Toyota Starmaker competitions.

Natalie Henry

Natalie’s life has played out like one long country song. The product of a broken home, with numerous stepbrothers, sisters and mothers, the singer was raised by her truck driver father, a KB drinkin’, camel-smokin’ man with the charm of Burt Reynolds. He would sing along to classics by Willie Nelson and The Highwaymen as Natalie lay in the sleeper cab of his prime mover, rolling interstate.

Natalie’s singing career didn’t begin until the age of 34, when she realised her love for writing was more than just words on a page, it was her way of feeding her emotion an escape from the daily routine. In just three years Natalie has been up, down and across Australia singing and sharing her stories of love, loss and heartache to festivals and shows all over.
