Bad Sydney Crime Writers International Festival announced.

BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival goes international, don’t miss the world’s best crime writers in our virtual 4-day crime fest.

BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival has been giving Sydneysiders their fix of crime fiction and true crime every September for the last few years. COVID-19 is making that hard so this year crime lovers will need to wait till November for a face to face Festival.

To make sure Australian’s get their crime fix, eight leading international writers at the top of their crime game will be taking part in the first virtual BAD Sydney International Writers Festival from 10-13 September, with morning and evening events over four days.

Crime is one of the biggest selling genres and Nordic noir, UK and US writers will be zooming in. Jo Nesbø (that’s Yo for non-Norwegians) has a new standalone book The Kingdom and Camilla Läckberg discusses The Golden Cage, her novel of female empowerment and triumph over patriarchy.

Shetland and Vera are back on our screens and Ann Cleeves looks back into Vera’s past with The Darkest Evening. Masters of psychological suspense, husband and wife team Nicci French chill us in The Lying Room.

Moving to the US, cult writer Don Winslow will talk to Stephen Romei about Broken, his collection of not one but six novellas. Forensic pathologist Kathy Reichs is in conversation from North Carolina with Aussie forensics specialist Xanthé Mallett about A Collection of Bones. Add in Karin Slaughter’s latest frightening thriller The Silent Wife which she discusses with Caroline Overington and Canadian-Australian Tara Moss’ glamorous and tough new heroine PI Billie Walker, et voilà, the perfect four days of crime.
