Cleopatra's Bling Independent Runway

This March Cleopatra's Bling presents an Independent Runway at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival. This marks a return to it’s spiritual home; the melting pot city which is a paragon of mutliculturalism is also the place where our founder Olivia grew up.

This runway will feature models taken from our client and fan base, who self-select to participate, and will be styled in clothing from Olivia’s own closet and independent designers from NFPs including SisterWorks, as well as Cleopatra’s Bling jewels.

Alongside this ethical attitude to the development of the runway look, profits will be donated to assylum seekers and recent migrants, whose clothes and accessories are sported by the models. The women from not-for-profit SisterWorks designing and creating clothing, artisan Muhubo Suleiman weaving baskets, and Cleopatra’s Bling jewellery coming together to create looks that show us that fashion can be collaborative, fun, and of financial benefit to worthy causes.

This joyous celebration will be supported by drinks, smiles, and music that will have you dancing in your seats. Cleopatra’s Bling believes that fashion brings us together around a shared love of beauty, and the common culture that this can foster amongst peoples - not simply a grab for the latest must-have item. It is this attitude that will be truly modelled on the runway. We look forward to seeing you there!

Cleopatra’s Bling is a unique, handmade jewellery brand founded by Australian designer Olivia Cummings in 2014. Olivia’s wandering soul took her across continents from Australia, Europe and Asia, to adopted homes that formed a constellation of destinations connecting East and West.

She created Cleopatra’s Bling as an homage to these connections, fusing her elegant lifestyle in Paris, with the beautiful craftsmanship she discovered in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.
