2020 marks the 24th year of the iconic Ginger Flower & Food Festival. The festival is set to delight foodies and garden lovers alike with three spectacular days of food, flowers and entertainment.

The festival will be packed with an exciting line-up of Sunshine Coast cooking and gardening experts. The Ginger Flower & Food Festival line-up includes:

A theme of locally grown and sourced produce will run through the cooking demonstrations, highlighting all that is fresh to the Sunshine Coast and how these ingredients pair so well with Buderim Ginger. Learn how to prepare ginger inspired dishes that will be sure to impress.

An exquisite range of ornamental ginger and heliconia plants will be showcased, alongside a stunning array of over 3000 plants available for sale. Get expert advice on suitable plant choices for potting and planting all three days from 9am to 5pm.

One of the many new additions to the Festival in 2020 is an Art theme. You will see a wonderful installation made from recycled materials by creator Sophy Blake called To Bee or Not to Bee. Sophy will also be holding bee making workshops where you can take home your very own piece of art. Witness the Ginger Factory’s resident artist Sharon Wood create a live art installation drawn from inspiration from the lush sub-tropical gardens with their vibrant flowers and greenery. Join the mystical woodland nymphs for a stroll through the rainforest.

All the food and fun the Ginger Factory is famous for will also be on offer. The Ginger Café will be serving amazing local food, grab a Taco from the food truck, enjoy an iced tea from the Tea Tonic salon and finish it all with a delicious homemade ginger ice-cream. Meet the makers and sample an amazing array of products showcased by local food producers in the Marketplace. And don’t forget shopping in Ginger Town and rides* on Moreton the ginger train and Overboard boat ride.

Festival favourite, Dame Edna Average, returns this year. Make sure you say hello possum!
