Three children are packed off to Italy to visit a well-meaning but feckless father they seldom see. A self-absorbed filmmaker, dad promises a skiing trip but instead takes them to a shabby cottage on a windswept coast. With the kids left to their own devices, Alma is determined to bring about a reconciliation between mum and dad, while her brothers take a more cynical view. Director Ginevra Elkann draws on her own childhood for this perceptive, gently funny view of how our parents are not always quite as they seem.
