Jackie Bornstein is excited to return to Lido Jazz Room to celebrate female composers in jazz.

In honour of International Women's Day, Jackie will share songs and stories of the female composers who overcame significant obstacles and became unstoppable forces in shaping the sound of jazz.

Featuring works by Peggy Lee, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, Bernice Petkere, Maria Grever, Dorothy Fields and more.

A regular at Melbourne's top jazz venues, Jackie has secured sold-out shows at the Melbourne Recital Centre, the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Kew Court House and more. Known for her rich tones and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie brings a powerful energy to each performance. Trained classically as a child, Jackie went on to study jazz at the Victorian College of the Arts and completed a UK Masters scholarship on the role of music in resolving conflict. She explores a broad repertoire that sees her singing in multiple languages. Jackie performs with a selection of Australia's finest jazz musicians enchanting audiences with her emotive delivery and beautiful tone.
