Embark on a journey of discovery into one of the ocean’s most intriguing sea creatures at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium’s Jellies 101 event.

From 6pm to 9pm, the aquarium will host a one-off 18+ soirée with drinks, canapes and a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring Australia’s leading jellyfish expert, Dr Lisa-Ann Gershwin from The Jellyfish App, and SEA LIFE Melbourne’s resident jellyfish-iando, Jarvis Aland.

With a 500 million year history, ethereal beauty and the potential to be deadly, jellyfish are one of the most fascinating creatures in the ocean! These brainless, heartless organisms are made up of 95% water and can grow up to 36m in length!

Taking place in SEA LIFE Melbourne’s new Ocean Invaders zone, the intimate educational evening will hosted by comedian and zoologist Hill Kuttner. Guests will be surrounded by multiple species of this gelatinous sea creature whilst learning from industry experts about jellyfish identification, separating fact from fiction and finding out what is causing the increasing prevalence—or invasion—of certain species of jellyfish in the ocean!
