In 2018, Darren Browne an Australian Citizen originally from Dublin, Ireland living in Sydney Australia set out to find like minded musicians in order to make an original band. Advertising in a local online platform Brazilian born drummer Lucas Tolentino answered the call bringing a fearless approach to the creation and direction of the band. A couple months after in a small bar in Surry Hills, Sydney the two played their first gig as a duo at a Songwriters Night under the name "KODY". Initially the band was a way to escape from the daily grind but after this performance “something happened that night” and there was no turning back.

This lit a fire in the two and things started to become more serious with Darren writing constantly about important topics and issues through the music and lyrics. Feeling that they needed people to hear these songs they soon set out to find other members of the band in order to try take them to a bigger stage. Darren met with Nazo Nazarian at his home in Sydney a few weeks later following Nazo answering an online ad about the band. A keen and talented Armenian born lead guitarist that grew up in Syria Nazo was studying to be a producer in Sydney after coming to Australia with his family as refugees a couple of years earlier. Nazo’s story only fuelled the fire of writing and with his ability to arrange and understand where the songs needed to go was a great addition to the band.

Knowing that they needed a bassist to finalise the lineup they searched and finally found Andre Sauzier a talented young bassist who joined the band for a short while before a mutual leaving due to other commitments that Andre had with other bands. In that time the band had started to find a rhythm and recorded 3 tracks which were published independently to all majors platforms. The tracks "Let you go" and "Lonely Bones" were featured on some community radio stations with regular interviews on the stations to follow.

Writing and performance continued and Andre stepped in for the gigs where required until the band found Vietnamese Bassist and Producer Quang Duy Nguyen who met with Darren at his home in Sydney following Quang responding to a poster at one of the music schools in the area. Quang auditioned for the band and was instantly accepted before the audition had ended to complete the band. Quang brought the final piece to the table with the creative bass lines the songs needed, also being a qualified producer with live engineering experience working with some of the biggest acts in the world like Hans Zimmer. The recording process just got a kick and things started moving a lot quicker than before with KODY controlling the whole process now.

The bands sound evolved quickly and started to sound like they wanted. The sound received regular feedback mostly positive but there was some criticism when compared to the current music industry sound. This was seen as a good thing by the band and lead to the name of their upcoming EP.

September 2019 saw the release of "Lost" the bands fourth studio track fully recorded, produced and mastered by the band. October 2019 the band released two tracks from a live performance at the famous Annandale Hotel after a successful gig had over 200 ticket sales which was the bands biggest turn out at that time. Currently the band are working on finalising 3 more studio recordings for release over the coming months. "War" a heavy hitting Rock Ballad, "Run" a song written about the events of the Paris attacks in November 2015 and "The same" a song about loss and searching for the meaning behind it.

The band plan to release an EP "we are not you" in early 2020 before releasing their debut album later that year if they manage to secure representation.
