Code Like a Girl

From banking and infrastructure to healthcare and governance, humanity is becoming more reliant on digital systems and services. But while we’re making great strides in innovation, big tech’s commitment to the diversity of people using these innovations seems to be falling behind.

Industry leaders are repeatedly finding themselves in hot water for failing to consider the ethics of their product, their people and their public persona. In response to this scrutiny, many organisations have sponsored research or established boards to provide assurance that their product measures up in the ethics department.

But can a single appointed committee ensure that today’s innovations are meeting the needs of everyone in our community? Can a charter have a meaningful impact on the business of tech?

This February, Code Like a Girl invites you to step outside your digital echo-chamber as we dig deep into one of the most critical issues of our time. We’re kicking off 2020 with a rousing event that promises to explore both sides of the ethics coin.

Australia’s top women in tech will take the stage for an old-fashioned debate, offering a holistic and balanced update on all things #ethicaltech.
