The Jazzlab

Luke Howard and Nat Bartsch are two of Melbourne’s leading postclassical artists, with work that blends chamber music, electronics and piano improvisation to create ethereal, emotive sound worlds. Between them they have released numerous solo and trio recordings, toured extensively and taken the peaceful piano world by storm. Howard’s ARIA-nominated soundtrack to The Sand That Ate The Sea; and Bartsch’s album of lullabies, Forever, and No Time At All both received critical and popular acclaim in 2019.

After many years of friendship and collaboration, they are joining forces to perform a special double concert, performing solo and together. As 2020 continues on in the shadow of numerous environmental and political challenges, both global and local, their show premieres new works in response.
