Join us on Thursday 26 November for a one-off opportunity to see Midnight Oil awarded the Sydney Peace Foundation’s Gold Medal for Human Rights and to hear them speak about their journey fighting for climate justice through their music career and activism.

Peter Garrett, Martin Rotsey, Jim Moginie and Rob Hirst will join in the conversation with Stan Grant in an exclusive live-stream event on 26 November to receive the Award. They will be joined by two-time ARIA award winner and chart-topper Jessica Mauboy, performing a specially prepared live tribute. Lord Mayor Clover Moore, a longtime patron of the Sydney Peace Foundation, will be live in the studio to award a Gold Medal to each band member.

This event will shine a spotlight on Midnight Oil’s ongoing impact as human rights trailblazers in Australia. From the northern beaches of Sydney to the streets of Manhattan, they have stopped traffic, inflamed passions, inspired fans, challenged the concepts of “business as usual” and broken new ground.

This is an exclusive event. It will not be released for viewing at a later time, so don't miss this exciting opportunity to attend this one-off digital event featuring classic Australian artists, Midnight Oil and Jessica Mauboy, and award-winning journalist Stan Grant. At the same time, you will be assisting the Sydney Peace Foundation to continue our work spotlighting global peace heroes who show that peace with justice is possible.
