Molly and the Prohibition is the creative friendship Between John McAll and Molly Georgia.

Molly and John first met while John was doing a music workshop at Mollys School. Immediately stunned by her talent he asked her to sing at his CD launch for Black Money his New York recorded Album release.

Apart for a few years, They got back together January 2019 with the idea of the Bessie Smith show.

Molly was an outstanding talent from an early age but has pursued, and achieved, a formal education before re-igniting her musical calling.

A Speakeasy night at 161 club followed by two sell out shows at Jaspers CBD then being one of the highlights of the Memo St Kilda Jazz Festival. The act is gaining traction and will be seen more prominently in the clubs, and festivals, of 2020.

John is well known for his contribution to groups such as the Black Sorrows and the Peaceniks as well as theatre productions such as 'At Last' and 'Shanghai Mimi.'

He also appears in the Jazz world with his band Black Money.

In this incarnation Molly and John take on the backbeat and raw power of Bessie Smith and her wild legacy and reimagine some of her barrelhouse world.
