Highly reputable Australian musician and founding member of multi-platinum selling band Thirsty Merc, Phil Stack will preview his album 'Colourful, Noisy' in an intimate set at The Newsagency on Thursday 19th March.

Also performing on the night will be Abby Dobson (of Leonardo's Bride fame, known for the hit single 'Even When I'm Sleeping', and Aria-nominated French ensemble Baby et Lulu).

Phil Stack is one of a rare breed who seamlessly crosses genres from Jazz to Rock, achieving equal amounts of recognition and success in both. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Stack is at home with Thirsty Merc, as he is playing with jazz luminaries like James Morrison.

Experience Stack’s considerable songwriting and vocal prowess, together with his awesome band live at The Newsagency for this special event. We get a sneak preview from Phil Stack and his band ahead of his solo tour, and the release of his debut solo album, ‘Colourful, Noisy’.

Reviews of stack and his upcoming album ‘Colourful Noisy’:

"Through ‘Colourful Noisy’ he flexes his artistic brilliance, from jazz piano-laden ballads (The Centreline) and exuberant rock-infused pop (Tradin Up), to The Long Game, a heart-wrenching orchestral masterpiece tempered by an unassuming '90s grunge flow." - SMH Dec 2019.

"The record is a cascading meditation on the perils of being alive.” - SMH Dec 2019

"The man, it turns out, can really sing." - SMH Sept 2015

"Balancing simplicity with sophistication; the wistful with the more primal." - SMH Sept 2015
