Express yourself through art making, storytelling, music and dance at Super Sunday, the Gallery’s free monthly program for the whole family. All abilities welcome and materials provided.

Be inspired by the striking prints of artist Arone Meeks as you create a landscape image with string or join an I-Pad drawing tour to create botanical illustrations. Learn about local language with Elder Jude Barlow of the Winangaay Ngunnawal Language Group and sway to the soulful sounds of Alinta Barlow. Then, listen to a tale of Enora and the Black Crane with North Queensland artist Arone Meeks or view Carriberrie, a virtual reality experience presented by the National Film and Sound Archive that shares the wonder of movement throughout Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Before you leave, witness a performance by local dance group the Wiradjuri Echoes and learn their moves in a cultural workshop for all ages.

The National Gallery’s Super Sunday is held on the last full weekend of every month. Parent/carer supervision is required.

Super Sunday is generously supported by our Education Patron, Tim Fairfax AC.
