Surface Embellishment Upcycling Workshop

In this fun workshop presented as part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival’s Arts Program, you will learn the basics in hand sewing techniques, including; embroidery, fabric manipulation and beading to bring a fresh unique look to your garment.

You will have expert guidance for inspiration to help decide what will work best for your special piece.

Please note:
(BYOG) Bring your own garment! Please bring along your freshly washed, pre-loved garment/s or accessory ready to transform.

Bring a few options to choose from, whether it’s your favourite dress with a stubborn stain, or perhaps something that you are just bored of and inspired to jazz up.

We will provide:
- Paper and pencils for sketching and design development.
- Wide selection of beads, materials, trims.
- Embroidery threads.
- Hand sewing needles.
- Scissors.

You will leave with a fresh outlook on how to upcycle your existing wardrobe and the skills to do so!
