Yvette Johansson – Legendary Ladies of Jazz

A classic performer, performs a night of classics, by the legendary female artists from the Great American Songbook including Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.

Yvette is one of the most popular and sought-after singers on the Melbourne jazz scene. She has a dazzling voice, she can perform a scat solo, that will take your breath away, and her affectionate treatment of the classics is second-to-none.

For her first Bird's Basement appearance, of the decade, Yvette will take you, on a retrospective tour of the music of jazz's legendary ladies including Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson, Blossom Dearie, Doris Day, Dianne Schuur, Julie London as well as crowd favourites, Ella & Billie, of course.

She will be accompanied by a stellar lineup, featuring the esteemed talents of Steve Sedergreen (piano), Dean Addison (bass) and Michael Jordan (drums.)
